Incompany course Dutch for beginners

If you employ non-Dutch-speaking employees, you would like them to be able to make themselves understood in Dutch. Our in-company course Dutch for Beginners
for non-Dutch-speaking employees is the first step towards the level of self-reliance in Dutch.

Formally English is often spoken in the workplace, but informally usually Dutch. Non-native employees occasionally miss out with their Dutch colleagues on those occasions. Speaking Dutch on a basic level and being able to engage in small talk for example at the coffee machine or during lunch goes a long way towards feeling engaged and at home in the new workplace and culture.

In our in-company course Dutch for beginners we pay attention to Dutch manners and everyday expressions. But also practical matters and tips that are indispensable for every foreign employee to have a pleasant stay in the Netherlands.

Dutch for beginners | A1

In our in-company course Dutch for Beginners A1 participants learn to have short conversations, to understand simple questions and to how to react, both in the workplace and in common daily situations.

Here are a few examples of language skills students learn:

  • introducing yourself
  • make an appointment
  • asking about time and place
  • talking about every day life

With these basic language tools and the acquisition of a basic vocabulary it becomes easier to engage with everyone who speaks Dutch. Next to learning the basics of Dutch the training also has a social aspect. Being able to talk Dutch during lunch, a coffee break and understanding Dutch customs makes the cultural adapation easier.

Dutch for beginners | A2

Our in-company course Dutch for Beginners A2 is suitable for non-Dutch-speaking employees who already speak some Dutch, but not enough to be able to hold a conversation in Dutch independently. A course Dutch for beginners is the follow-up of the in-company course Dutch for Beginners A1.

Here are a few examples of language skills students learn:

  • make a proposal
  • give an instruction
  • write e-mails
  • give/ask an opinion

In this course your employees become more familiar with basic grammar and expand their vocabulary. They become more proficient in reading and writing about their immediate living and working environment. After the training students usually are self-reliant in Dutch.

European Framework of Reference for Languages

The language training concludes with an assessment. If the result is satisfactory, the participants receive a certificate. The certificate states the final level achieved in terms of the European Framework of Reference of Languages.
